New/Upgrading build flight controller recommendations

So i was into drones about 1.5 years ago and decided to build myself one to try out however, it never really worked as well as i wanted and didn't have features i probably just assumed were standard like altitude hold and return to home. so i planned an upgrade using a SPracing F3 (which i later found out was the EVO version not the standard like i thought), a GPS module and i decided to include a live feed camera (it's been so long that i can't even remember the real name for this :P) but for the life of me i cannot work out how any of this stuff goes together anymore but i did find after only a little research that the EVO controller does not support altitude hold or return to me.

So my question is; what is the most reasonably priced FC that can support altitude hold, return to me (not as crucial as the hold) and maybe even focus on me ( i also cannot remember the name for this but basically the drone circles the transmitter i assume). should i just stick to my original SP racing F3 or has the community moved away from them.

any help is greatly appreciated :D

P.S. i forgot to add the parts i have.
- SP racing EVO FC
- Ublox TTL GPS module (i can't post a link but it's a Geekcreit 1-5Hz VK2828U7G5LF)
- FrSKY X8R reciever
- 12A AfroESC's
- a 200mW Eachine camera and transmitter combo

If i can still use these parts that would be great but i will most likely take your recommendations as gospel.

Thanks again

That Ublox module can be connected to the F3 EVO you have, and can be set up for position hold, RTH, waypoints, all the good GPS stuff. You just have to use iNav instead of Betaflight.

Thats excellent news, but i am having trouble connecting my FC to iNav. I can get it to flash using but i have to use Zadig every time to get it to show up in iNavs flasher section but once it is done i try to connect to the board normally and nothing. Also the USB device unrecognised will always pop up too, any thoughts, i can't find a fix for this anywhere.

EDIT: I didn't know there was different driver options in Zadig and finally got it to connect
