The X5C-1 came today, charged the batteries but didn't get much flying in. Mother Nature was upset so she's been blowing all day 11+ MPH with 25 MPH gust. Did however took it out front and fired it up. Did fine with the 11 MPH wind but the gust would blow the little feller all over the place. Did maybe a half a battery or so the quit didn't want to trash it on the 1st day.

I have a little CX10 that I play with from time to time in the house but by no means consider myself an accomplished flier. I'm happy if I can hover the CX10 in one place. Considering the weather I was very impressed with the X5C-1. It flew great or should I say hovered, I can't wait for some better weather so I can really try it out. Whish if the weather forecast is right wont be until Saturday.

It's a fun little copter, I fly mine around the living room, good place to fine tune your hovering skills. Be careful about the range, you might want to take it out at night, prop it on its side bind up and walk away until the quad's lights start flashing this will give you a good visual of the range. There are several youtube videos that show how to mod for more range, I did a mod to the receiver antenna on the quad and more than doubled the range, would'nt suggest the transmitter mod with a router antenna, I tried this and ruined my transmitter and had to buy a new one, I am going to triple the length of the antenna with a wire extension, this method is what I used on the quad itself and is bassically dummy proof. Happy quading.

I thought about taking it to a local football field and see how far I could walk away and do a lift off. I really like your night idea thanks.

You are welcome. If you can pick a point (points) on a satelitte view you can get a very accurate measurment in feet using google maps.
