New quadcopter flies from a kite string

What is the purpose of the string? the loophole for UAV commercial use has long since been closed. Though I do like the increased battery life.
 
I think the idea is to make a simple to use camera quad for those that do not have much R/C experience. It looks like the quad goes were it needs to not by inputs from a transmitter, but by being tugged along on the string.

Yeah, I saw that after commenting hahahah. Still does not look all that useful thugh for anything but a couple odd shots you might like.
 
I think its more of a capture approach.

Imagine working a convension or festival, you can set that up at a height and just let record all day, steady, tethered for weather.

I like the follow too, you can set it up as a balloon over your head facing away from you and just walk/run/ski/etc. All without worrying about it.

I dunno, at first I was like "wow, are we really out of new poop to do" but then when they mentioned thethered power it kinda made sense to me.
