Hi im a 55 year old man new to the drone world and am looking forward to flying and maybe building also im interested in the holy stone HS600 any thoughts

RE : im interested in the holy stone HS600 any thoughts

If you never fly a drone before, my answer is ....... No, not a good choice.

Reason:
That drone has 4 powerful brushless motors and NO propeller guards. An impact with a tree, wall or anything, you may break the propellers, or the motors, or may be the entire drone body.
You may have a deep pocket. Even so, the drone is too expensive for a "brand new beginner."

Find something that comes with propeller guards and cheap. It won't hurt your bank account when you crash it.
Believe me, we ALL had crashed a few drones when we learnt the skill. That is unavoidable. That is part of the learning curve.
Sorry, I don't make recommendations because I don't want to be blamed if you run into issues flying the drone.

That's good advice , may be get a tiny drone that you can fly indoors if the weather is bad , I started with the hubsan x4 I don't think you can get them any more , this sort of drone is a starter drone

If you want to learn the hard way. Which some would argue is the proper way. Get a Drone without GPS. I did many years ago. I am 76 now. When I got my first GPS capable drone. It was like WHOAAAA! You are in danger of messing up. Don't panic. Just let go of your sticks. Drone comes to sudden stop and level. When you are in danger of messing up with a non-GPS Drone. Well you will probably mess up. :(

Your choice.

Speaking of choices. Now a word from your sponsor. LOL

I have a

Either way, good luck and have fun yanking and banking!
