Need Spektrum DX5e-compatible controller

My 9-year-old son and I are undertaking to build a HobbyPower F450 quad. All is well, but we are having a hard time mating our CC3B controller to our Spektrum DX5e receiver (actually an AR610 with a DX5e on the other end).

First thing we need to know: is a CC3B *ever* going to be compatible, or are we deluded? We first noticed problems in the physical connections (wires and headers did not seem to be sized properly).

If not, what flight controller do we need to get? By this I mean the board that talks to the ESC's, not the hand held unit.

Thanks very much ...

Wabbit and Wablet.

Hi mate I think the problem you need to bind the receiver to the transmitter first ( cant do it plugged into the CC3D)

Hi mate if the light is not flashing on the receiver it bound and ready to go then you can now wire it all up

I don't think you get it. The receiver and handset are happy together; they worked fine in another quad. The receiver and flight control unit *on the quad* are not physically possible to mate up - the wires and headers do not align.

Post a link, some CC3D flight controllers are made with different pins and headers.
