Need help with new build

Hello!

I need help and information with my new potencial build (I'm not sure about it ^^ yet). Would be happy with any kind of data and tips.
I want a multirotor that is capable of lifting packages and carry them on great distance and of course needs to be able to return. Also would like GPS control of multirotor.

Requirements:
- about 30-35 min flight time -> more is better
- GPS
- long range of signal -> if possible 5 km -> more is better
- it needs to be able to lift 1,0 kg of weight -> more is better


So I would probably need 450 mm frame or wider, some HC batteries (4500 - 5000 mAh), good and reliable FC.
I'm not sure about number of motors. I only have experience with quadcopters. Are hexa- or octo-copters better choice?

All I need at the moment is information.

Range is easy, 1kg is not hard, and GPS is easy. I'd suggest APM, or NAZA if you are a bit tighter on money, there are some much nicer GPS enabled FCBs, but it sounds like either of those would be sufficient for you. The hard part is getting enough battery life to carry 1kg of weight that far and being able to return with it. Bigger props and lower KV motors will give you a lot better efficiency. Play around with some configurations on this handy little calculator. It will almost certainly have to be bigger than a 450.

One other obstacle may be local laws take a look here for more info on that. What I read was translated so very likely may not have had the full meaning that was stated untranslated.

Me and my colleagues are actually working on a pontencial lean startup. Now all we have is ideas and little progress. Of course safety is prioritiy. We are already talking with CAA for permissions,...
I just want to gather as much information as I can (what building multirotos is considered), so when the time comes I can start building multirotor.
