We are ready to leave the house and fly outside, but we live on a hill that's often windy. Any recommendations on Ready to Fly drones that are durable, can handle wind, and doesn't cost a fortune for a beginner 14-year-old? Thanks so much!
Generally speaking cheaper things are less dense, hence the phrase "it's got a good weight to it"
I have a "kingkong 90GT" that works pretty well but problem is anything that doesn't come with transmitter means you're throwing down a chunk of change for a transmitter etc. (Jumper T16 is a "good deal" at around $125 for the transmitter/controller alone). I honestly don't know of a toy grade one that will handle the wind, even my KingKong one has a tough time if it's really windy out here, a 3" prop quad with carbon fibre frame and everything packed tight will make things more dense and able to combat the wind better (less surface area being hit by the air and more mass in a given spot so easier for the motors to have authority on things). The cheaper ones are usually going to be plastic which means light weight and they usually want to make them have big surface area to look more substantial than they are mostly but it hurts flight performance especially in wind.
Yah I just grabbed a tiny hawk 2 as did my buddy who flies they come in a few days so can say more for sure if it's worth looking into but again transmitter and goggle cost bring everything up. There are some kits ready to go at racedayquads for tinyhawk 2 but might be out of budget unless a Christmas or birthday (or whatever holiday your parents hook it up )
