Naze 32 rev 6 Dof issue

Hi, I have the naze 32 flight controller and can't seem to connect it to cleanflight. I have tried different USB's and a different PC.
I think the issue may be the drivers but i'm not sure. It says ' Serial port successfully opened with ID: 1' then 'Serial port successfully closed' when I click connect.
I am confused as to what drivers I need for this board and the order to install them, so if anyone could give a few seconds of their time to help me it would be appreciated.
Thanks, Oscar.

is it an F1 board you may have to use an earlier firmware. i know they plan to kurb it if not already, did you download the VPN drivers, if thats correct. i had an issue with them. but that was over 2yrs ago. couldn't get em off github .. specific site

Thanks! I will try with an earlier version, as it's an F1 board. Do you know how much earlier I will have to go for the firmware?? Also I don't think I downlaoded the VPN drivers. What are they and do you know how to download them??

IT WORKED!!!!!! I had to use firmware from 2016 haha!! Thank you so much!!!!

Did you try the boot pins
No power connected from bat or USB bridge the pins then power on then power off next time you power on it Is susceptible to command . If you can get connected try the whole board reset. Then gyro calibration. Then run through the setup tabs & save that setup.
What are you flying.? Racer acro or camera.

I have tried flashing it and resetting it by the boot pins multiple times, with old and new firmware, but it still won't connect to cleanflight. And I am flying a racer quadcopter, no camera though.

My SPF3'are fine but I just got a Piko blx for a 130 & it's acting up. I have covered it with conformal coating. Given I have built 30 kwads or there about, so I come across problems. But this is mad. Apart from the receiver problem, just the fact that the check box in the motors tab is already selected on opening the tab is Hella dangerous. Tx is bound to rx, no probs.
I can set it up in cleanflight from a board reset but as soon as unplug the battery it keeps all the settings except the rx tab is blank till I board reset. I can calibrate esc's in blheli suite & change firmware.
But cannot calibrate esc's in cleanflight motors tab as the box is checked & no response from the sliders.
I tried switching to BF but it wouldn't have it. I can't even load a newer firmware to it.
It's probably just a dodgy board or the conformal coating messed it up.
I got an omnibus F3 micro pdb, osd.
My first osd, moving up in the world.
I can actually keep it up long enough to use one ;)

Hey, I think you have the wrong thread haha.

So you did manage to connect then.
You tried with old & new updates.
Successfully loaded on or did they fail.
Other than that is baud rate, USB cable,
Com port. mine jumps up or down now & again. Can you use blheli suite or blheli configurator through the board.

It did connect for a short while, but then it disconnected and it won't connect again. The old and new firmware could be flashed on after a few attempts at shorting the boot pins and I have changed both the baud rate and USB cable, which have no effect. I will look into the blheli suite though, Thank you.

Naze32 rev5 or 5a has passthrough. But rev6 does not. I went through loads of these. Then bought 3 SPF3. They still working nearly 2 years. I'm sure you can get upgraded naze32 F3 chip. There is that many boards out now. It's worth forking out the extra for non clones. But even a cloned whatever is better than that naze.

Thanks. Are f3 boards cheaper than f4 boards? and do all f3 boards work with cleanflight/betaflight?

Depends on what you buy. But I went through a few nazes. Thinking all boards are fragile like them I bought three seriously pro F3 boards. They have had atleast 60 hard crashes between them & they still going. The gyros in the f1's are potatoes. Don't buy clones, just save up another tenner & buy something decent.
I can't recommend the SPF3 enough. Especially for a beginner, cheap, reliable.
But ideally you want a Mpu6000 chip & spi.most boards run either cleanflight or BF some only one. So read the description of the fcb.
