Naza M Lite Software issues... HELP

So I've gotten my Naza hooked up (correctly) I plug in the battery and it powers up. I plug the USB from the led unit into the computer and it makes a tone letting me know its plugged in. I open up the assistant software program and it nothing is happening, no blue or red light at the bottom, nothing. I've tried to install the USB driver several times but it comes up with a error code. This also happens when I plug in my TX. I'm using Windows 8 and I've basically tried everything that everyone else has tried, and still nothing works. Any ideas on how to get that driver to succesfully install, also is the assistant messed up?

Thanks,
Austin

Hi Mate ok what you need to do is fire up the assist on the PC ,then fire up the transmitter and Naza FCB (NO PROPS ON) once its all ready , Now plug in the USB it should now connect to the assist ok

Are you using the dji compatible cord that comes with the controller? Mine will not connect unless I use a dji compatible cord.

It will make the usb connection sound, but will not connect to the assistant software.

I also have one dedicated laptop to windows 7 since everything seems to work on it. Do you have another machine to try it on?

I have the USB that's comes with the Naza, as well as I have tried many other cables. I do not have a dedicated Windows 7 computer either. I think it has to do with the driver that won't install successfully.

When you say "props" do you mean propellers? Or like the propulsion system?

He means the props ;)

No other computer to complete the configuration on?

I think my wife has windows 8 on her laptop. Let me check it and ill get back with you.

I still have some windows in my blood after being on Mac for over 3 years now :)

My wife's laptop is win8, and it kept failing for me too. Turns out the driver is not signed, and windows 8 will only install signed drivers unless you know the work around ;)

Navigate to the restart button and hold shift down when you click to restart. Choose troubleshoot, and when it starts back up hit the f7 key to temporarily disable the driver signing. I have had to do this same thing on my 2012 servers, but there is a command to disable and re-enable. That is actually where I got the idea from, and it worked.

I hope that makes sense:cool:

Now I have to uninstall before she finds I installed aircraft software on her computer lol

Haha thanks for risking it for me, I will definately try that out! The reason I was asking about the props is because I knew not to have them on and figured that was just a common rule so I didn't know if you were talking about something else. Appreciate the info gentlemen, test/maiden flight is coming soon, will upload video.
