My ZMR250 is done finally!

I began here on the forum talking about my X5 and X8 and also was browsing for a used racer but was persuaded to build so I did. I build lights and lasers as I've said before and I do alot with electronics so it was really no issue to build and program. The learning curve for me was really learning the software (I chose cleanflight since I got the SP F3).

I did multiple tests while I was assembling, checking for shorts and ensuring everything would work and fit. I did make one mistake I will share which really had me stumped for a few hours. When I was choosing motor orientation and position I googled a image to decide which motor went where, and placed them accordingly. Once I got everything together I realized in cleanflight that my #3 and #4 were swapped, and the motor direction wasn't the same as the cleanflight Quad X mixer. I tried to make a custom mixer to avoid moving motors and motor direction but that was a serious fail on my part and ended up matching cleanflights mixer.

Once I had everything where cleanflight wanted it, I plugged in my 3s and she flew without any issues. I haven't received my VTX/camera yet so really just flying LOS.

Here's what I used, and what I hooked up to the FC.

ZMR 250 frame US$20.99
ZMR 250 PDB (size of frame and replaces top plate over arms) US$12.99
SP F3 Flight Controller US$19.99
Racerstar 2205-2300kv motors US$24.99
Racerstar RS 20A 4 in 1 ESC US$23.99
XT60 Power Plugs US$1.99
Flysky FS-i6 + FS-IA6B US$46.39
Total of essentials: 151.33$ USD

I also bought a few other things that I consider odds and ends like some stand-offs, battery straps, and other things I thought of as spare-parts. Definitely order a lot of props (20-30 sets) as I broke about 3-4 props during troubleshooting, and every time you have to open a new set.

Currently got the F3 hooked up with battery voltage monitoring, buzzer. I have a minimosd being shipped with my VTX and camera but this pdb may even have it included not sure yet. The PDB did have a 12v and 5v regulator built in and made it much easier to get required power. Overall pretty simple build and seems like it'll fly great. Hope it doesn't look to messy, as I haven't decided final resting places for all the attachments because VTX/FPV cam isn't here yet.

A maiden flight, had to blur someone walking down the street + the street sign.

Now, I have to do a lot of research on PID's and begin my journey in tuning. I did balance some props to see if it helped on my third flight today with the 250; but same issues. They affect video, and performance but it's still easy to fly.. loving the acro/rate.

What I am seeing
*Bouncing around during yaw right + left
*Front end bounce during punch out
*Over correcting Roll/Pitch

Let's begin reading/watching I suppose.

Coooooooooool!!!!!!!!!!!

How much money did it take to build?
Frame £12
SPF3 £20
pocket rocket 20amp esc £7 each
Emax 2205 2300kv £13 each
Pdb £4
Cyclone 5046x3 £3 set
Foxeer hs1177 £28
TBS Greenhorn 25mw vtx £15 2nd hand & a lucky buy off ebay but I usually run the 600mw TS5828S with 5v out for the cam. Sometimes it's good to feel legal.

what does this sign stand for: £

Before I mess with pids, I Change my rates & expo, super expo. These define the speeds my flips, rolls & spins do. Throttle curve aswell.

I have been reading about this as well. Just gonna verify COG and deadband then I'll try that..

Those are pound signs for Brit currency I believe

Although I did just buy a brand new in box 4S turnigy graphene for 13quid. Instead of 30 on ebay. Most of my batteries are turnigy & tattu, but this my first graphene.
