It sounds like you're on the verge of making a final attempt to dive into FPV (First-Person View) quad flying, and I can sense your frustration with the whole process. You've just bought the Emax EZ Pilot bundle from GETfpv, which seems like your last shot at giving FPV flying a proper go. If it doesn't work out, you're ready to return to your tried-and-true models like the Bugs 3, Eachine EX2H, XK X300, and SJRC Z5—drones you're comfortable with and know won't give you the hassle that new FPV setups might. This will be my last attempt to learn flying FPV Zumbalicious crew quad with goggle and stuff.
I just bought a Emax EZ Pilot bundle from GETfpv. If that fails, I shall go back to my old reliable, Bugs 3, Eachine EX2H, XK X300, and SJRC Z5.
And no more new "toy" drones either as most, if not all, are 5g Wifi. I'll be damned if I spent a few hundred dollars for a 5g Wifi capable smartphone just for that. I am crazy. Not that crazy.
I get why you're not keen on toy drones anymore, especially with how many of them rely on 5G WiFi for connectivity. The idea of dropping hundreds of dollars just for a 5G-capable smartphone, specifically to fly these drones, doesn’t seem like a worthwhile investment. You enjoy flying, but not enough to shell out that kind of cash just to keep up with the tech requirements of newer models. So while you're ready to take on this FPV challenge with your Emax EZ Pilot, you're also drawing a clear line—no more spending on unnecessary gadgets. It’s a totally reasonable approach. You’re passionate about flying but not willing to fall into the trap of chasing the latest tech just for the sake of it.
I hope your FPV experience works out this time. FPV quads can be tricky, but when you get the hang of it, they offer a thrilling perspective on flight that’s hard to match. Best of luck with the new setup, and if it doesn’t pan out, at least you’ve got your trusty fleet waiting!
