MP Maker Select Plus

Just got a new printer, Prusa i3 clone. The Select Mini was a great little machine but I wanted something with a larger build surface. Nice thing about the Maker Select is that it has a touch screen instead of those dial knob thingies. It was very easy to level and set up in Cura and after e step calibration, PID tune and a couple test prints, I did my first multi-part print. These are the parts and brackets to do the Z-Axis mod that will stiffen the frame up and ensure that it's perfectly square to the bed.

Nice printer, I'm sure you will make great use of it.

Just out of curiosity...….
Anycubic Mega -S is priced at C$449. A tag less than your MP. It has larger build plate (210x210x205), very strong and sturdy frame, touch screen, filament sensor (automatic pause printing if out of filament), resume printing after power outage.
Any reason you preferred MP instead ?
Maybe the popularity and widely acclaimed name of Prusa i3 MK3 has a certain attraction?

Yes, I considered the Mega, it has some great features. And it has one of the best heat beds on the market. To be honest, my decision was only based on the fact that the Maker Select had good reviews, but more so that I already have the Select Mini which has served me well with no issues in over a year. Also, Monoprice has great customer support and parts are readily available. The other thing I like is that the Maker Select is just a rebrand of the Wanhao Duplicator i3 which has a huge following and an endless number of mods, a few of which I plan on doing.
