Mavlink & 3DR

Hi Guys (and Girls).. I've just joined the group and i probably needs loads of help. I seem to have digressed from my day job of selling Arduino parts to building a quadcopter. Currently i have the frame built motors and ESC's installed. Now i have just embarked on setting up the APM2.6 and am getting a bit confused with "Telemetry"

My question is do I need both Mavlink and 3DR or one or the other.

It appears that this forum is either not very active , not very friendly to beginners or no one understands Mavlink/3DR (like me) so guess its time to try somewhere else.
 
Sorry - we're still pretty new, so not too many people here. I don't understand Mavlink/3DR, but I read up a bit on it when I saw your post and still didn't understand enough to even begin to help. You could always send a technical support request and/or question to 3D Robotics directly. Scroll to the bottom of this page:

That's what I'd do since they're sure to have the answer.

Then you can post it here for others when they find this thread :D
