Looking to build a soldering station

150 watts? That sounds like a bit overkill for working on electronics, perhaps that iron was for something more heavy duty. Anyways, 60 watts is more than enough to use either lead or lead-free solder. I personally use a cheap 40 watt iron I got ages ago from RadioShack. I am eagerly awaiting a new one that should come tomorrow from amazon.

Yeah I've had my new one for like 2 days now (gotta love primes free 2 day shipping), and it's great. It was only 30 bucks and it holds its heat super well, I haven't had to turn the heat knob more than half way up yet for anything. For 30 bucks it comes highly recommended
