KK2-Mini - Aux Channel

Zealous Orange

They see me rollin'
I recently purchased the KK2-Mini flight controller and have been working through the process of building my quad. I was curious as to what I can control on the FC with the AUX channel. I read that you can control the auto level. Are there other features? I was looking at adding a receiver controlled switch for my LED's on channel 6.

Thanks!

Hi mate No self level is all on the KK , if you have spare channels on the receiver you can plug the switch unit direct in to this to control lights ,landing legs etc , just make sure you dont over load the BEC that is powering the receiver through the KK , you can add a high amp BEC if you want ,you dont have to power the KK through the ESC to motor 1 , you can power the receiver with a BEC then this will power the KK

OK, I think I mostly understand... I have a follow up question/statement. Just trying to make sense in my head. lol

So the ESCs are connected to the KK and the power for the KK is coming from all four ESCs. Because they have three pins, signal, positive and ground. I then pass power and signal from the KK to the receiver. The KK mini just passes one set of positive and negative with five signal pins.

If I attach, say a servo, to the channel 6; I want to make sure to not draw to much power so I don't overload the receiver and KK.

Is it possible to power the receiver from another source, not the KK?
What is the purpose of the battery connection on the receiver?
Could you link me to something or help me understand the external BEC?
It is possible to power the KK with a BEC not from the ESCs?

Sorry for all the questions.

Hi mate we will do this a question at a time , yes the KK is powered from the ESC only the ESC for motor 1 from the Bec in the ESC ( unless its an afro or opto these dont all have Becs) a switch Bec is better than a linear Bec as these get hot . Most remove the red wire from the other 3 ESCs, The KK will power the Receiver normally through the throttle servo wire ( the wire that runs from the throttle pins on the KK to the throttle channel on the receiver .
You can power the KK from the receiver so the BEC will plug into the receiver then this will power the KK , this is what the batt connection on the receiver is for
You dont need a link all you do is plug the servo wire from the BEC ( it only has the power wires red/black in , and the servo wire out) in to the receiver batt pins , if you look at the receiver it will normally have a mark on it to show ,signal/pos/neg pins , Live is always the middle pin so even if you do manage to plug in back to front all that will happen is it will not power up ( now all servo wires have 3 colours of wire the middle is always live the lightest colour wire is always the signal wire
hope this helps
PS , never be sorry for asking questions , ask as many as you need to get it right in your head
