KISS FC GUI I click connect but nothing happens

Title. I connect the kiss fc to the computer via the mini-usb after first loading up KISS GUI, then it loads Com3 then I click connect but none of the tabs work and it might as well not be connected.
Any help would be appreciated, can provide more details if needed.
 
Try a different USB cable, you maybe using a charge cable instead of data,
Have you downloaded the drivers or tried using a different com port. Do the baud rates match up.

1. tried like 6 different cables, none worked
2. drivers ARE downloaded
3. tried different com ports
4. baud rates?
 
I am having the same issue! I know for sure its a data cable and am using the bundle download from the kiss website. This is my first build and I am so close to completion and then this happens!
 
Ok so I figured it out, you have to use this new beta version of the GUI. I would link it but this forum isnt letting me. its 1.16.4

Use this and use Futaba as a controller in the GUI if youre using the Turnigy Evolution
