IT LIVES!

My first hobby grade quad was a QX105 Bat that I had very little success getting it flying. I had to deal with two dead boards and long replacement times which eventually led me to give up on it. I later bought replacement motors to get it back in the air because it was the only quad I had with OSD. I got it back together and took it out for a flight. I found that the cloverleaf had taken more of a beating than I had expected, leading to a drop of the signal as I rounded the garage and a hard collision into the wall was the result.

I took it apart and removed the antenna from the camera and tossed everything in the junk pile until I got a new antenna. I eventually decided to put the board into the frame of my first quad, a Cheerson CX-30w for a time.

Then yesterday, I managed to ruin a camera from another quad (gorilla glue fumes are murder on electronics I learned) so I cut the antenna and tried my hand at soldering it on the Bat's camera...

So I took it out for a test run with stock pids and the race rates I use on other quads. The camera performs better than the stock ones on the SPC Makers 90X/

Working on piecing together a micro for someone at work and I just ordered one of these for myself too: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XHXDQTL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 excited to go micro rip :) reviews show there are a few issues with components on this model, but figure I can tighten things up or print replacement/shim parts as need be (will post a thread once I have some hands on time with it). Will be nice to be able to rip around without worry as much about slamming into someone. My brushed micro was only really good for indoor flying and apartment isn't really big enough to make that fun for more than a few days.

My next micro:

URUAV UR65 65mm FPV Racing Drone BNF Crazybee F3 Flight Controller OSD 5A Blheli_S ESC 5.8G 25mW VTX Frsky receiver with 3 batteries.

My wife is giving this to me for my birthday she thinks I don't know lol (I'll act surprised);)

I spoke too early on mine. I am having PID issues (pitch and roll changing to 0 in flight) and the ground wire came off the camera. Was too irritated to try fixing it, maybe today.

There are always issues with these micros, usually not too difficult to fix though. My QX-90 has gone though 4 fc boards and about 12 motors in a year and a half lol. It finally flies great, for now at least.

Yah I have a betaFPV 65 but it's always running into issues and can't really handle any wind, I'm hoping the brushless one is just less bad, not expecting perfection for $130 with Cam and vtx included. BetaFPV one has built in spektrum receiver but flakes out randomly with my dx6i and apparently no way to lock my transmitter to DSM2

Whoops don't handle wind well at all but they're great for indoor use. I used to have one of these:

The Tiny 7 but I lost it in a field when the wind caught it. Very good brushed quad but not very powerful. I'm hoping the new crazybee is better however it's going to be more for indoor use lol.

Those both look like solid choices. I haven't tried the brushless micros yet so hopefully they'll prove to be an upgrade from the brushed motors lol.

So I have been told. More power, longer lasting, also opens up better gear than brushed. Both would work with my current collection of batteries and one might be able to use my pile of props from the 90Xs.
