Firstly, I would like to thank all those who have helped me. This is an amazing community for beginners like me.
Next, when I first started trying to build a quad copter I wasn't aware of any quadcopter forums. I used videos on youtube from unknown people who could mislead beginners like us with their complicated quad slang... I watched a video on how to build your first quadcopter... When all the parts arrived I was very eager to start building. I finished my quad but realized I forgot to order some parts... After those arrived I knew I was done. I went outside on a warm summer day. It was perfect for flying. No wind, not too hot... I plugged in my battery and armed my quad. I slowly gave the quad some throttle... Then a little more... Then even more... Before I knew it I was at full throttle and my quad was still on the ground. Puzzled I disarmed my quad and walked over to it to see what the problem was. It turns out I had my propellers on backwards! The quad was flying straight into the ground. After reversing my props I gave it another try. This time I was sure it was going to fly... I gave it some throttle and it... Flipped over so fast if you would have blinked you would have missed it! I tried everything I could to figure out the problem but the same result always plagued the quad. Finally I gave up. I was determined it was a problem with either the FCB, ESC or motor. So I went back online to order more parts a couple of months later. I ordered the DJI F450 ARF kit. I ordered it via Amazon and shipped to my house in two days instead of the usual month from China. Went it arrived I assembled it and fixed everything up. I programmed my Turnigy 9x (Great transmitter and cheap too!). Applied the proper settings to the Naza-M Lite and I was done in about two days. It was a little bit cold outside so I had to wait a few days before actually flying it. When those cold days passed I went outside one morning ready to fly. My dad followed me out with his camera... I armed the quad. I gave it some throttle. Then some more... I didn't want to give too much throttle thinking it would flip out of control... But before I knew it it was off the ground. It flew so smoothly and it was very stable I was so happy!
If you want to build your first quad I highly recommend the DJI F450 or F550 ARF kit. It is very stable with the Naza and easy to build for a beginner!
