I want to make a drone (with an onboard camera) from scratch with a friend, and I have some questions of the making of the drone.
We are planning to purchase the parts off hobbyking and discussed the parts for a quadcopter; 4X ESCs, 4X motors, 4x Rotors, Frame. We plan to use an ardiuno chip to program the drone to the controller, as well as attach an screen to the controller so that we can see the onboard footage from the drone's camera.
We want to make a drone where the micro controller, is arduino. (this is so we can add extra features like the go pro footage, and stream it to the remote controller), but how will/can the arduino connect to the ESCs which control the motors? on hobby king there is something called a multi-rotor control board, which connects to the ESCs and deals with the motors but can this multi rotor control board be connected to the arduino? so that when the RC controller sends a signal to change direction, the arduino could pick this up and then send this information to the multi rotor board. (we would connect the radio and channel receiver to the arduino)
