Drone? I don't see any drone ... crap!
.... and do figure-8's today with my quadcopter.
I have always used the quad in straight lines with me behind it. When it did turn, it was the wind blowing it around. I already learned how to turn it on the Y axis (yaw?) when it was in a hover, but I was too scared I would lose it if I tried anything else.
I was watching a series of videos on Quadcopter 101's blog. I should have watched more, but I wanted to fly. I figured I would have the big hexacopter with GPS and waypoint I want to build, do all that other stuff I didn't know how to do. I was only going to use it just for aerial photography anyway.
Now I understand all the freakin' fun everyone has been having flying those little 250 racers! I can even fly right at myself without panicking and killing the power for an uncontrolled crash. I went through all my batteries a lot faster this time, since I lost all track of time having so much fun! I didn't even crash once! I also got pretty good at landing softly.
Next step ......... FPV!
