Hubsan X4 rotor guard does not fit

I bought my Hubsan X4, my first ever RC toy, online last week from Maplins and kept crashing it, of course, so bought a rotor guard, also from Maplins. The guard looks exactly right, but the cups have the same outside diameter as the motors, so won't push on. I'm reluctant to exert any real force, as this is really just a toy. This is the H107C which, according to the Maplins web page has larger, more powerful motors, which is presumably the reason the guard won't fit.

When I phoned Maplin, they said some people have had issues with non-fitting guards, and refunded my money.

But I still need a rotor guard. How can I ensure that the next one I buy will fit?

Hi mate measure the can diameter of the motor , then when you find one for sale ask the seller the size of the holes thats the only way , If it was me I would had cut them, pushed them onto the motor and use a bit of hot glue to hold them in place

Great solution, holtneil, thanks! I cut through the inner side of each cup once, pushed them onto the motors, then, as I have no hot glue, tied them down with what I call cable-ties - thin, plastic-covered wire you find usb cables, etc., tied up with when you buy them.
