Thanks RENOV8R. Everywhere you look tells a different story of how far it can go, even the Hubsan website. I'll stick to the 300m mark.

Yes, you'll always get different answers and results. This is due to the environment you're flying in. The same quad that has a range of 400 metres in an open field out in the country may only only get half the range in a park in the middle of the city due to magnetic and electrical interference

That's my problem, no big open fields.
I have a hubsan advanced that I just bought and I can easily get 1000m consistently and once reached 1500m in a heavily residential area. I have a couple of line of sight gaps that I fly into to get it. I took it up and out at night and kept an eye on the lights to figure out the right altitude to make it over everything. Can't tell in the daytime.

I only have the standard. I've never gone past the 300 meter mark. I'm going to order a antenna set then try it. I know they are suppose to return if out of range, but I haven't brought myself to trust that yet. I really enjoy the H501S, but I'd like to move to the advanced at some point in time. Thanks BC Rich.
