I have a friend—an older guy—who handed me a box with a drone in it, asked me to figure out how to use it, and to then then teach him. It doesn't have a manual, but it's called a Propel Cloud Rider, it probably came out in the mid-2010s, and it retails for about 80 bucks on ebay.
There is no mention of this drone being controllable with a smart phone, either in their official youtube videos or in the manual; and yet, on the bottom of the quadcopter, there are outlets for FPV, Camera, WiFi, and 'Shoot'.
I'm intrigued to know what I can plug into 'shoot', but I'm mostly interested in FPV and WiFi. This implies to me that I can buy accessories that will either connect the drone to some FPV goggles, or to a smart phone over WiFi. I also used to have a cheap drone with outlets of the same shape, so these outlets seem to be a standard. This makes me think I can buy an adapter that is drone-agnostic, and as long as it isn't too heavy, I can expand the functionality of this drone.
I doubt I could find something generic that would allow me to control the plane with a smartphone, but I don't know. If not, my friend could control it with the normal controller, but view the video in real-time, on his phone, with an adapter.
Am I correct that I can buy accessories for this? If so, where would I start? Is there anything I need to know about compatibility? Thanks for your help.
