Now I've lured you in with the beer promise, I'm hoping someone can help me with a question
I've just bought and APM 2.6 board for a first build together with an FrSky X8R receiver. Most of the info I've seen online advises that I'll need to use an SBus to CPPM converter to connect the receiver and FC as the APM 2.6 won't take SBus input, BUT I found the following YT vid which seems to claim that it's possible to reflash the APM board so that it will take SBus input direct.
Anyone know if this is accurate, and perhaps more importantly advisable? I'd much rather avoid having the extra converter but normally there's a trade off for this sort of software update. I don't know if it's been widely used/tested which is a worry, especially for a first build.
Any insight, advice, or insults are gratefully received.
P.S. The bit about buying beer was a lie, but I promise you'll always have a place in my heart if you can help
