Hi there,
i have recently been acquainted with the world of quadcopters, by getting an Eachine E58
i'm enjoying it, although it does have limitations with battery life and range.

I have been looking into upgrading: Nearly all the drones i see are racing drones with a battery life of about 3 minutes.
My ideal drone would be one that has a range between 500m / 1km, has decent battery life (15+ minutes), is reasonably inexpensive, and could be built or parts replaced easily.
Another problem i see is, i'd have to purchase from China (banggood, geekbuying etc), and worry about additional customs charges.

I look forward to interacting on this forum, and learning a lot!
Cheers,
Marcus

Welcome to the forum Marcus. The question you've posed is probably the most common in these forums, and unfortunately, there is no solid answer. A racing drone will get you out a km and back but very fast with a flight time of like you said, 3 or 4 minutes. You could get a Bugs 3 Pro or the likes for around $200 that has a 15-20 minute flight time and a range of about 800m. But it's toy grade. A great way to get started in the hobby but you'll get bored with it very quickly. without going into an in-depth parts list of everything needed to get exactly what you're looking for, you can plan on spending close to $1,000.00. Keep in mind however, htat this is taking into consideration all the extras you'll need for your first quad such as goggles, batteries, etc.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Like you I also have an Eachine E58. It’s small and light, and good on low to windless days. Despite its small range and flight time I look at it as a good LOS training drone where I’m getting the basics of Pitch and Yaw maneuvering. To date I can’t seem to get the remote to shoot any pics or video, where the App on my iPad will. I’ve also discovered how to transfer video shot on my iPad without using an SD card in the drone as well.

Like Renov8r suggested I also plan to upgrade to a more expensive drone when I feel my skills have improved and I’ve gained more experience.

Hi Scooterwolf,
i'm also enjoying learning on the eachine e58. with scotland being eternally windy, i'm looking for something with a little more power.
i've been looking into getting a Hubsan X4 H122D storm. This may give me a little more power, and give me the introduction to FPV too.
