First post here, just signed up.
So I got my first quad all built and got to the part where I needed to program it in Betaflight. everything was fine, tested the motors, good, fpv was good. I couldn't get any response from the transmitter in betaflight at all. I scoured the internet for 5 hours trying different things but nothing would work. During the process of trying different options in betaflight, in the UART tab, when I saved and rebooted it did something to two of the motors, smoke came out of them, and now they don't work. I had no idea that could even happen. As you can imagine I'm beyond irritated. Honestly trying to decide if I should even get 2 new motors (and ESCs?) or just give up and eat the $400 I've spent, or just FPV a fixed wing. I really don't want to get more motors just to burn them up.
Radio is a flysky fs-i6, with a compatable reciever I got on ebay. Omnibus F4 board.
any help would be appreciated, thanks.
edit: I did have the battery hooked up while trying to get the TX input working. I didnt see any warnings anywhere about rebooting with the battery plugged in, but I'm guessing thats what led to the motors getting smoked.
