Gyro Blackbox Data is going crazy

Hi, first ever post, first drone built, it flies pretty well in acro mode, but if I go into angle or horizon it loses control.

After looking at the blackbox data, my gyros are going all over the place. See the attached picture.

I've tried calibrating, it shows level when stationary, but once I start flying the angle mode slowly tilts until the drone flies sideways.

Omnibus F3 flight controller with INAV installed. Racerstar 2205 motors with racerstar blheli 30a lite esc.

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Is your flight controller soft-mounted? If not, that's the first thing I'd try. Also, how much research did you do on iNav? It appears that you may not have done the proper calibration in the configuration tab. Although iNav appears the same as CF/BF where you put your FC on a flat surface and click on calibrate accelerometer, it's a more advanced process in iNav similar to the initial 6-sided rotation process for a Naza.

Thanks for your feedback!

I did some logging at zero throttle, waved the quad around a bit and checked the gyros. They appeared normal, so hopefully a soft mount will do the trick. I'll order some vibration damping pieces.

FYI, iNav calibration is more involved than cleanflight or betaflight, but not overly complicated and the program walks you through it.

Yes, I'm just getting into iNav for a TBS Disco. One nice thing is you can choose different size crafts for a starting point for PIDs. I went with the 10 inch prop/1.7 k defaults and first flight went OK until I tried horizon mode. Very uncontrollable, almost like it was in rate mode. Definitely have some tuning to do.

This is my first craft, so I won't have any experience with any mode other than air mode until I get the flight controller soft mounted. I started similarly, using the 5inch preset.

Any ideas for a diy soft mount? I'll order dampers, but I don't want to wait a month to get them.

You could use O-Rings although it's not an ideal fix. If you do, drill the mounting holes on your FC out a bit and use a larger drill to bevel the holes on both sides. Then the order of assembly would be standoff, o-ring, FC, o-ring, nut. The beveled holes will keep the O-rings in place as there's no point in doing this if anything is touching the edge of the holes in the FC
