hi I want to build a quad that will be able to carry a gopro around, be stable and carry a bit more weight for the future. At the beginning I wanted it to fly for an hour but quickly realised it was imposible. Now I would like it to fly for 20 - 30 minutes the longer the better. Do you guys have any ideas on motor and props combinations that is what I am having a bad time finding and information on thrust and power consumption? The quad I am planning on making with everything on it i think will weight about 1500g to 2000g .

THANKS

Unless you come up with something gas or solar powered, you're not going to get 20-30 minutes of flight time. Realistically, you can shoot for up to about 15 minutes at the most. What just about everyone does is brings multiple batteries out to the field with them. That way, you can get an hour of flying in, but at 8-10 minutes at a time. A very good tool that should really help you plan out your build is ecalc:

Also, you should definitely keep searching and understanding other people's builds to find something that suits your needs. That's kind of cheating, but it will save you a lot of money not having to do the R&D yourself. If you're going to buy an off-the-shelf frame, they normally all come with some information on what esc, motor, prop combo is ideal for a build with that frame.
