Using a HK450 frame. Looking at 2214 920kv motors or similar. probably 1045 props. Question is what battery would be best? 2200 40c 3s? That gets me to 88 amps(22amps per motor) 2600 35C 3S? It would be nice to have 6-10+ minutes flight time. So many ways to go. Thanks!

I think with that motor & prop you could
afford to bump up the Mah to around
4,000 for that extra time. It's obviously not acro you're building for, so you can afford the extra weight. Then in the future if you put a 4s on it with the right balance you could cover an area faster than a 3s.
Depends on what you want it for. o_O
But need to know what esc's.
Obviously 22a but?

Thanks. Just for fun and learning to fly right now. I was thinking of a 30 amp ESC AFRO?, Hobby King? Also so many Flight controllers as well. be nice to have ALT. hold, auto level to start.

Afro 20A Muti-Rotor ESC (SimonK Firmware) ESC's, with Multistar 2213 935kv(15 amp per motor)with 1045 props. Sorry wrong motors in original post.

Mah is how long it will last at them amps.
So go as high as you like on mag. But keep a balance. More weight = less flight time.
But less mah = less flight time
so depending in motor & prop, but you could double your mah I reckon.

To know how your motor’s operation meets its manufacturer’s specifications, you must know several important numbers: current (amps), voltage (volts) and power (watts).

Same basic setup I've been using a 7000mah 3S battery. My weight right now is a little over 1.5kg and my motors are 950kv. 30amp ESCs. Flight time is 20 to 25 minutes depending on the wind.
