First build recommendations

Ok I will get the flash lead for the KK board.
1. Would you recommend getting the Afro 30A speed controllers and going with the Turnigy UBEC or just using a speed controller with a BEC?
2. Could you explain the significance of the first number on motors, like the motors I have selected, 2216? I understand that it represents the diameter and length of the motor, but what advantage does this have?
3. What charger or specs on a charger would you recommend?

Thanks

Hi mate yes the ESC is good 30amp is a good size lets you play with prop size with out overloading the ESC and they are simonk flashed , here is a video to show how well simonk code works
As for motors some like a low profile motor I have pan motors very low profile depends on frame you may need a taller motor for prop clearance the important bit is the KV this is rpm per volt so if its 650kv and you use 3 cell =11.1v your get 7,215 rpm or 650 rpm per 1 volt
As for charger 50w is good for 4000mah and under any thing over this will take longer to charge so if you going for 5000mah get a 80+ amp charger , there are 2 types DC only ( these need a power pack to run at home) or a AC/DC so will plug direct in to mains
My set up is a 540w power pack and this runs 2 chargers a 400w one for my 6cell and a 50w for my 3cell I can use both at the same time , have a look at chargers see what you like and put a link on here and I will look at it then tell you what I think
There is one go for a nicer motor than multistar, they have lots of problems with QC buy 4 and you may get 2 that are no good

Hi mate charger is good , The motors are really good , as for battery I normally go for a battery that has the same burst as the amps on the ESC
So i have 30 amp ESC so my battery is a 30c burst 50c , I do have some that are 50c and 90c burst gives quad a big kick in the pants but I still dont pull more than 30 amps
But hand on heart I cant see any change in quads between the different C rates go for a battery that a min of 30c and your be good
dont worry to much about burst its only for 15 seconds , and the motors wont pull that much

So I received all my parts and started building. I have a few questions regarding wiring to the KK2 board. I quickly drew the wiring diagram of what I have:

1. I'm using the external UBEC as reccomended. I plugged just the signal wire (orange) from an ESC into the UBEC connector-this is Plugged into M1. Also just the signal Wire (orange) The other 3 ESCs are plugged into M2,M3,M4. Is this Right?

2. The servo leads from the Control Board (AIL, ELE, THR, RUD) does it matter which Channels on the receiver I plug these into?

3. There is a positive and negative pin in the upper left corner of the board that is the voltage sensor input. Do I hook this directly to the power distribution board? I'm guessing this is just for the voltage sensor to measure voltage?

4. Last, Does anyone have a good link or video for the next steps, setting up the board and 9x transmitter?

Hi mate right idea but no plug the BEC into the batt on the receiver this will then power the kk through the servo leads , set up transmitter as aero then power up KK go into monitor screen and check all trims read zero if not use transmitter sub trim to get all on monitor to zero leave aux as it is Now test sticks it should match movements on the monitor screen left is left and so on if not reverse the channel till all matches up , Now calibrate the escs to do this power up transmitter put to full throttle ,now hold buttons 1 and 4 while they are held down power up KK your hear a bleep now lower throttle and it will bleep again ( you must keep buttons 1 and 4 held while you do this once throttle is down and bleeps you can let go ) this is now done
you can now arm by holding rudder full right and KK will bleep give a little throttle make sure all motors spin up ok here is link for manual too

I have set up the transmitter, all trims read zero, sticks match movements on the board. I came to a problem calibrating the ESC's I do the process and the board shows "throttle pass through", but it never beeps. I am also able to arm and disarm the board with the sticks.

nevermind figured it out. Just had one wiring issue that was wrong, nothing to do with programming.

I do have one question. I have set all the subtrims to 0. Should they read 0 on the kk2 board? I get small numbers for every thing and throttle is 0. The numbers are small like 5- 9

HI mate yes sub trims on KK must be zero use ( sub trims in transmitter to zero the KK) the only one that will NOT zero so leave it as it is and this is the AUX this is just the switch channel so you can turn on and off self levelling using transmitter switch in flight

Hi mate its not a problem, its the gimbals on the transmitter, so by adjusting the KK to zero there is no stick input going on while sticks are at centre ,
