Finally chosen my components, are these all compatible?

Hi everyone,

I have finally chosen my parts, however i am not sure if they are compatible with each other. Is it possible if someone can clarify if they are all ok? i am also not so sure on calculating flight time... can somebody help me with that? I also need some help with setting up my osd and fpv gear....

Parts:

Queries
1) Will this whole setup work?
2) How can i calculate flight time? (if someone could do it for me i will love you forever)
3) Will this monitor attach onto the bracket and will the bracket go on the radio?
4) How do you track your drone in real time using the gps? will it be on mission planner?

Sort of like putting the cart before the horse. Why would you invest in these if you were not sure they were compatible? If some are not compatible then you'll waste more time and money getting the right ones. However, zeal is not often rewarded with gold.

I think they are compatible... i just need a second opinion and i have other enquiries which i have asked at the top of the thread....

Geez, I hope you realize what you're getting into, this is going to be a very pricey setup. So to start, I will say that yes, everything is basically compatible. However , if it was my build, there would be a couple things I'd change. The biggest would be the flight controller, however it's only because I've had no experience with it. I can tell you that this is a very technical flight controller and the setup and operation is going to be a very big learning curve. I'd recommend the Naza-M V2. It's much more user friendly, just doesn't have mission planning capabilities. The other suggestion I have ATM is to swap the D4R-II receiver for the X8R. Much more versatile and pretty well the go-to receiver for this type of build. give me a bit to punch some figures in and I'll let you know how efficient your system is, and what flight time you can expect

OK, some quick calculations don't look too bad with a thrust to weight ratio of 1.9, specific thrust of around 810/motor and operating temps around 35C. and for the one everybody wants to know, flight time at hover around 18 minutes, mixed flight about 13 minutes and 7 minutes hard flying. Top speed of this bird will be approx. 35-40km/hr

Also.... how can i increase flight time? any batteries you could reccomend that would work on this build?

5000mah. Maybe a tad more on that size frame. Tattu are my goto.
I don't really push them but none of my 18 have puffed yet.

Bigger battery = less flight time.
Its finding a balance. Doesn't matter what amp the esc is, the motors will draw the power they need. Whether they exceed the amperage is another thing. I don't use ecalc but I'd go with 30a as they are big props on a 500mm frame.
I'd suggest carbon props aswell.

You may be able to able to slightly increase your flight time by going with a 4S lipo. The biggest difference would be a noticeable improvement in performance.

No, the ESC does not force current into the motor, it just needs to be able to handle the current the motor is pulling. In fact, you could use a 100 amp ESC with no harm, but it would just be a waste of money. General rule of thumb is an ESC that is rated at 20%-50% higher than the maximum amp draw of the motors you are using. The most those Emax motors are going to pull at full throttle (and believe me, you'll very rarely going to be at full throttle for more than a second or 2) is 20 amps, so 30 amp ESCs will be just right for your build!

ok thanks :). is there any batteries (3s or 4s i dont mind) that are a very high capacity? (higher than 5000mah?) would love to buy one or 2 of those... to boost flight time.

yeah ive found some... will probably stick with the cheaper 5000mah ones tbh.... I can just buy 3 or 4 of them instead of 2 big ones.
Is everything else in the build fine? will everything work? is there anything I am missing?
OOH also... how does the osd work? what do I have to do to make it work?
