Currently Building a F450
Hi Everyone, for Christmas my partner bought me the parts to build my first quadcopter as I mentioned it several months ago. I am super excited but do require help along the way as the parts I have do not match up with some videos I have been watching.
I will update this thread while I am building the F450 and will update with questions and answers. Hopefully this will help others in my position.
Video guide I am using.
So all the parts were bought as a pack from here. They consist of the following parts with images and questions included (when answering these questions can you include the number so it is easy to track):

Finished build should look something like this:

I know there are many questions so I thank everyone in advance.

Video guide I am using.
So all the parts were bought as a pack from here. They consist of the following parts with images and questions included (when answering these questions can you include the number so it is easy to track):
- Frame - F450 quadcopter frame with controller protection board
- Motors - 4x A2212 1000KV
Question 1) The screws that came with the motors do not fit the arms, I tried the other screws that came with the kit but they do not fit the motor either (even though they are the screws shown in the picture here). Should I just buy longer screws that will fit? - Speed Controllers - 4x 40A ESC
Question 2) These connections are slightly different then the ones I have seen in guides where it looks like I need to manually create the plugs. I am guessing these golden plug type things are what I need to solder the wires? Also does it matter what ones I plug into each other, will it blow the board this way? I know that the plugs are dependent what direction the motors spin so I was going to connect everything and get it right by just plugging them in at the end... - Propellers - 4 pairs 1045
Question 3) These do not look durable, which is why I am guessing the came with extra pairs, is this important? - Controller Module - MWC 2.5
- Distribution Board - HJ v1.0
Question 4) The controller fits over the distribution board perfectly but has not come with any screws to fit them together. Would a small screw and nut be the best thing to do this or velcro? Or looking at the guide linked earlier do I need the controller module at all, can I just power the board directly? - Battery - GE Power RC Pack - 11.1v 2200MAH 25C Lipo
Question 5) Is there any estimate to how long this battery would last? - Battery Charger - B3 AC
I need to get a UK adapter for this - Battery Strap - Wtotoy.com
- Radio Control - FS-T6 (6 channels, 2.40-2.48GHz)
Question 6) Has anyone got a guide to setup the receiver for a quadcopter? Also how and where is to install the receiver? - Landing Gear Kit
My build step by step:
- Put together landing gear (easiest part)
- Screw motors to the arms (waiting on question 1)
- Solder the speed controllers into the plugs (waiting on questions 2)
- Solder speed controllers to F450 board (make wires smaller if needed)
- Solder a red and black power cable to the F450 board (dependent on question 4)
- Screw arms to the F450 board (bottom of the arm to the main board)
- Propellers could be added on here or at the end of the build
- Tie wrap the speed controllers to the arms
- Optional - connect landing gear to bottom F450 board
- Connect the controller module and the distribution board onto the F450 board (waiting on question 4)
- Connect wires to controller module
- Connect receiver to the bottom F450 board and connect to controller module
- Connect the top F450 board to the top of the arms
- Place battery velcro around the top F450 board
- Connect radio controller with receiver
- Calibrate, test and fly
Finished build should look something like this:

Future additions:
- GPS
- Lights
- Camera / FPV
