So I'm building the USS Enterprise that is 8'x4'. So it's going to be huge. I originally thought about doing a Quadrocopter but I found out that it might not have enough gas to lift almost 30 lbs. Considering how large a surface area this thing will have, I figured it would also be better to distribute the lift over a larger area, eliminating the need for 10" or larger rotors. I need a motor/rotor combination that can produce enough lift with eight motors while keeping the rotor below 10". Keep in mind I will be using one if not two 16'000 mAh 6S Lipo battery.
Just to add another level of difficulty, or as I call it, the cool factor. I'm adding a FPV camera under the center dome of the forward saucer. Cost is not an object on this project, so ideas that cost a lot, I don't care. With the weight I'm dealing with, do I really need heavy lift motors or standard lift?
