Dropping from the sky...

The last 2 times I've flown, my quad's fallen from the sky into grass and mud. Failsafe activates and it tumbles to Earth and explodes, making me die a little inside haha. That horrible helpless feeling, dammit it sucks!

A little more details on the build...

It started life as an Eachine Wizard X220. I crashed it a bunch, then hard enough to break an arm at the motor mount. Also bent something in the motor, doesn't spin freely or without heavy friction.

So I decided to buy 2 new frames readily available on Amazon prime, one to fly and one for spares. Martian III frame. I also bought Emax r2205 2300kv motors to replace the Eachine ones for the same reason. I don't want any down time...

I put it all together and waterproofed everything with silicone conformal coating.

One time I crashed it and the receiver antenna came out, while the connector stayed on the rx (radiolink R6ds). In an effort to keep flying, I robbed the antenna from my micro's rx and installed it. It wasn't in the best condition though. I flew it around a bit and then it fell from the sky. I tried again, same issue. After crashing the 2nd time, the antenna broke off the same way the first one did.

So I order some, and replaced it today. Flew and failsafe activated and it crashed. It did the same thing again!!! I'm not even flying that far away.

I just finished installing a new rx (r6ds), and will be doing a test flight low to the ground but far out to test the failsafing issues tomorrow after work.

Where I normally fly at.

Is there anything else that could be causing the issue? Is there a way I can eliminate whether it's a problem with the antenna, the rx, or even the tx?

Ok it dropped again. I went pretty far and low, turned around and started heading back and decided to test a punch out and it pretty much dropped after a half second of going 0 throttle. Come to think of it, my fail safe is set to half a second... I'll be investigating my stick calibrations on the controller and in betaflight to see what's going on.

Any help/input is appreciated!

I figured out what happened thanks to Joshua Bardwell's video below, hopefully when someone else encounters this issue they find this thread...

Turned out my problem was my ESC got damaged and went bad.

To me it wasn't dropping from the sky, but to me you crash it yourself. This is my 0.02 cent on the first video. And the second video didn't work or play.

The video I posted in this thread doesn't actually show the quad doing what I'm describing, just showing how open the area is I'm flying at.

The video of it dropping is in the other thread you replied to. In fact, it is JUST after 26 seconds, right where you said you tuned out at in the other thread you replied at...

So yeah, it was dropping with no failsafe (no SOS Morse code beeping upon pickup) due to that desync issue. Either way it's fixed and I'm flying again yay!!

Sorry for the confusion.
