Deal extreme board and gps

I'm in the process of building my first quad. Building it part by part. I'm not looking at spending loads to start with in case of crashes etc. I buy a lot of things direct from China Hong Kong and 1 site I use is deal extreme. Now on deal extreme they have various different flight boards and gps modules. I'm just not sure which boards will work with which gps modules. At the same time I will be looking at a board that I can add extra sensors to ie ultra sonic sensor aswell as OLD module.. I'm just in need of info on what's comparable with what ??? The cheaper the better to start with.i know it's not always best to buy cheap but as my first quad I don't wanna spend loads..

Also what's people's thoughts on the multi rotor ETC, ie Q brain

Frames, motors, esc's, etc. are usually fine to buy relatively unknown, but when it comes to control boards, I'd go with something more well known so you can find people online that know about it in case you run into issues. If you're looking for something inexpensive, but well known and decently supported throughout online communities, I'd look at something like this:

I'm not sure if you shopped with HobbyKing before, but they're probably the most well known online hobby retailer for copter parts and their prices are very good. They even have warehouses in other countries to speed up shipping for some parts.

Dx are awesome but if your getting things with pcb's in check every electrical connection and solder points I have brought a lot of torches, LEDs and many other electronic items, they are built in the same factories as the real ones but iv found they have 0% quality control that's all up to you
