Hello all,
I am a complete newbie, I had a hubsan x4 107d for Christmas, absolutely brilliant, love it, in fact I built another one using the spare parts I had it was a bit fiddly but enjoyed it and it flys just as good as my original one so I have two now.
Anyway I have been bitten by the bug and on impulse ordered.
Dart 400 frame,
4 afro esc 20amp,
4ax-2810 7kv motors,
4 8x4.5 nylon props from Hobby King.

Now the big questions. Is all the bits ive ordered so far suitable? and any suggestions for fpv system.
If I get a Naza m light v1.1 with gps, will I be able to just plug it in and away I go? or do I need plug it into a computer and set it all up, only I have no idea how to do this as I am a complete technophobe. Also what radio gear would be best I will probably put a gopro or similar on at a later date.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Regards Martin.

Hi Martin welcome the dart frame from hobby king is not bad , not all motors fit the bolt holes, some guys turn the arms over to get a better fit of the motors
The afro ESC has a small BEC I would not run the Naza on that if you shop around try and get the Naza kit with its own BEC but if you can we can find you one that will work
As for motors the ESC is not big enough you need 35 amp min This one has a good Size BEC to run the Naza

Nylon props are ok but they do let the quad wallow in flight your be better off getting some carbon fibre like these

FPV as your looking at hobby king then the FPV in a box is a great buy

Hi holtneil,
Thanks for the advice, I thought that the Naza would be simple for a complete novice like me, with the fcb and gps all in one box.
I will have to get used to the hobbyking site, only when I picked out the dart 400 frame at the bottom of the page the related items I thought the items were suitable for that frame, oh well never mind you learn by your mistakes so they say. Would you have any opinions on a mid price radio system?
Once again thanks for the advice, but I can guarantee it wont be the last time I will be needing help!!!!

Regards Martin.

Hi Martin , look for a second hand spektrum DX7s or there are orange ( clone of the DX6i) or turnigy xr9pro but your need a module for it

Hi holtniel, Thanks for the reply so fast, I will keep an eye open for the radio gear, by module do you mean receiver? excuse my ignorance but what is BEC?
Regards Martin.
