Hello, my fellow classmates and I designed and are building a quad copter we have 3d printed most of our parts and or cut them out on the cnc machine now we are encountering some trouble with our esc and flight controller we are only able to get two motors to work please watch these videos and comment any help will be appreciated.

HI mate look at the kk board the pins on the left are for the receiver in put , the pins on the right are for the motors , so why have you no escs plugged in ? the kk board takes the power from esc plugged in to m1 (motor one ) so remove wires from board plug the receiver thro, elev, etc as in kk2.0 manual if you have not got this go to hobby king find kk2.0 and look in file section, it is very inportant to get wires right way round, now plug esc wires from motors 1 to 4 in to pins m1/m2/m3/m4 they are the pins on the right, ok now load motor layout , after this turn on transmitter put throttle to full, now hold down buttons 1 and 4 while held down plug in battery your hear some bleeps then lower throttle it will bleep again now let buttons go , un plug battery , plug battery back in the board will show safe, go into menu look for receiver test and make sure all is right throttle reads idle so test each control if all working right then great if any need to be reversed do so .now go back to safe hold rudder to right it then read armed push throttle and motors will spin , make sure they go right way round , if 3 spin and one is slow to start , if you go into menu and adjust throttle up from 10 to about 20 and test again all motors should start same time ,

thanks that helped a lot and all motors work fine now if you have any information on recommend PI controls we would appreciate that as well for we are close to finishing our build and we be test flying soon and as first timers we were wondering if certain PI settings are better than others especially for beginners thank so much again.

HI mate , there are some basic setting that will get you flying they are for the kk2.0 , now as it look as your running the kk2.1 gains will need to be a 20% higher i will leave you a video link watch all of them first as the guy changes some settings so just put in the last one he shows but like i said gains will need be 20% higher for kk 2.1
on setting up what you would do is first do 1 axis at a time turn the i gain to zero , then put the p gain up very high the quads should have a fast shake and motors will sound strange lower the gain till the shake stops, then turn up the i gain ,now your have a slow shake now turn down gain till it stops , this should be about right if you do fast movements like forward then stop fast if quad shakes for a while then gains on that axis is still to high if it wobbles a little like twice then thats ok .this is a link for rolf bakke he built the kk board your find loads of test videos on his you tube page
