Can anyone with Emuflight expeirence perhaps help ?

My quadcopter returned from the shop i did the upgrade with and they installed a helio FC and Emuflight on the FC.
I cannot get hold of the technician as he is officially on leave so cannot find out what version of emuflight he installed. When i read on the emuflight download page, it says the newer version of emuflight/emuconfigurator is not compatible with older versions.

Is there a way i could check the version/versions installed ?
What do i need to do ?
 
When you use the configurator to connect to a quad there is a serial log (at least on betaflight) that show up on the top of the GUI can expand that a bit as soon as you connect you'll see print out of what the quad is reporting it's current version as, typically the configurator will also warn you of incompatible versions.
 
Just connecting won't harm anything either the problem could be mismatches in the config the firmware expects and the config the configurator writes to it but just connecting doesn't save any data from the configurator to the FC unless you explicitly hit a save/write config button.
