I started flying with one, after I accidentally bent my camera gimbal 3 degrees, to prevent further damage. I snagged a vine hanging down between two trees and crashed onto an exposed root of the tree. I was going low and slow, but the damage was done.

Great idea! Does that just attach with zip-ties? I feel like the price is on the high side, but I get that the production is low, so it's necessary. Plus, $35 is cheaper than replacing a camera or gimbal. And I've definitely paid a premium for things that I couldn't find anywhere else, so you should do well. There are several guys who fly phantoms on the forum, so hopefully they see this!

Yes, just four zip ties hold it in place. It slides into the groove on the inside of the lower portion of the landing skids.
Sorry I can't get the price down any further, but carbon fiber is expensive and so is time on the water jet cutters, especially for small runs. It's quality material and looks very professional. It will last forever. I am currently working on a package including extended legs and the camera guard, but it's not ready yet.
