BIG shout out! TBS Ground Station.

Easy Question... I'm looking for someone who would be able to look at and fix my TBS Ground station.
It just died and I'm not sure why! Checked power which was fine. Screen just went blank and died.
Anyone know of the where about this can be fixed!

Feel free to jump in.
Chris

Yep, will do Neil.
I contacted Tomasz Mazurkiewicz multirotoruk today. He said that they could probably fix it. They can't give me any idea of cost until they have seen it. I'm going to send it up this week and see what they come up with. If they can't fix it then they will only charge for the postage which is good of them.
I'll keep you posted.
Chris

Hi Neil,
Just sent it off so it will be with them tomorrow and they will update me on Monday.
Tom, Super nice guy to deal with. Just spoke to him on the phone and he say that if he can't fix it that he is happy to send it off to TBS, as he knows them. He also said that they should fix it for free as it's only just over 12 months old. These Ground Stations are pretty robust and shouldn't faultier at all. Just see what happens now. Keep you posted.

Wow thats really great new , so this makes buying TBS better value than other and worth every penny , keep us posted sound good tho bet you cant wait to get it back working

Hi Neil, Ok the update!

Spoken to Thomasz @ multirotoruk a couple of times over the last day or two. The short of it is that he can't fix it. I asked him if he could send it off the TBS and he said he can, but it would cost around £70 + return postage. He was a little vague, so I had him send it back to me. End game I'm back to square one. I looked on TBS's site and most parts come with a 2 year guarantee. I have how contacted them to see what they come up with. It's going to be a long haul i guess.....It's a pity that there wasn't an agent in the UK that can't deal with it. Will let you know the outcome!

Just received this from TBS! I couldn't have overloaded it as it was only powered up by a battery!

Hi Chris,
Can you open it up and locate the component "D1". If you are good with a multimeter, check for voltage "behind" that component (looking
from the battery) to GND. If you got nothing, then your Diode fried (did you perhaps overload it with something?)
Keep us posted.

Hi Chris , well test it if you can also tell them there is no way you could had overloaded it , if the worse case , now you know whats wrong replace that diode , i am sure maplins uk will do it , they may even do it for you , but i would push the 2 year guarantee, let me know how you get on
