Best motor choice for a ~1.2 kg drone

Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie in the field of the drones, and I'm trying to build a DIY one. After selecting all the components of the drone (except the motors, of course, the weight of the drone will be around 1.2 kg (I hope this weight includes the motors, because without motors, the weight is 1.08 kg). The drone specifications that are required to get the best motors are:

  • It's a quadcopter (four motors)
  • Propeller specifications are 7x4x3
  • Battery is 6S, 4500 mAh and 60C
  • ESCs are 50A max.
  • I would like to get around 3:1 thrust-weight ratio
  • Drone weight without motors is 1.08 kg (calculated from components list)
I don't know how to calculate or estimate the motor thrust, so I'm asking you for your opinion. Please consider a tight budget.

Thank you very much. If any relevant information is missing, please tell me so I can tell you.

Right now I'm looking at these two motors:
  • Racerstar AirA 2508 1200KV 4-6S (79,28€/4 units)
  • BrotherHobby Avenger 2808 1500KV 4-6S (101.66€/4 units)
I can't choose. It is said that the first one is the best quality/price choice, but the second one generates less artifacts (bubble effect). What do you think?

Typically in the kwad world stuff costs more because it's higher quality so yes, the more expensive motors are worth it.
