Applying ND or other Filters on beginner/amateur drones

Is there a way to place ND or other filters on beginner drones? I recently refurbished an Vivitar Aeroview drone. It has a low end HD camera. The footage has been over exposed with hot whites and weak shadows. Is there a tired and true way to place an ND (or other )filter on a lens even if there aren't any specifically made to go on one?

Sure, just go to any camera shop and get a sheet of stick on ND filter material.
