Android and the Blade Glimpse XL

Well I went and bought the Glimpse XL because I wanted a good entry level drone and this came up at a price I could afford. I read a few reviews and they were all pretty good, a few moans about the camera.. so I was prepared to replace it with a gopro or suchlike when I can. I wasn't expecting miracles, but neither was I expecting the thing to be total non starter.

Now that it's too late, I have read many posts about the Glimpse XL's stubborn refusal to connect with an Android device and thus commune with it's would be happy pilot and controller. Sadly I have not read any posts about the solution. I do have the pdf download from Horizon that confidently assures me that if I follow the embedded link I will receive the zip files of power, which I must then somehow transfer from my phone to an SD card, which I must offer to the XL. The document claims that the XL will then gratefully devour the new information, update it's wifi connection and in short mend it's wicked ways and start talking to the Android..

Only it never gets that far. I follow the link and tap 'open' on the download link, and then.. nothing. The bar freezes and the connection times out. I'm not buying an iphone.

Anyone, any ideas?

Thanks Renov8r, a good thought but no there is only one link on the document. I guesse my best hope is that someone, somewhere, has been able to download the zipfiles from Glimpse Android update zip file, and might be able to email them to me direct. Ill follow the link you sent now and see what happens..
