First build, parts ordered and en-route, I'm sure all you old-hands can remember the thrill of waiting for your first set of carefully selected and eagerly awaited parts to arrive. The sense of excitement mixed with the inevitable fear. Will it all end in tears? Who knows, but I'm about to find out.

Here's what I've bought:
  • SK450 Frame
  • 4 x EMax MT 2216 (810KV) motors
  • 4 x Afros 20A ESCs
  • APM 2.6 Flight Controller
  • Ublox NEO-6M GPS
  • FrSky Taranis X9D Transmitter
  • FrSky X8R Receiver
  • 2 x Zippy 2200Mah 4s Lipo
  • Assorted miscellaneous bits :)
I'm still wondering if I need an SBus to CPPM converter or whether I can flash the APM 2.6 to take the SBus input from the X8R. Perhaps some trial and error will answer the question, or maybe I'll post a question somewhere here and see if anyone know :)

The build is due to start this weekend, so (as I'm sure you will all know) you can expect to see me littering up the forums with newbie questions :)

Can't wait to see how it ends!
