4 axis versus 6 axis gyro??

Fairly new to Quadcopters, although been flying a Mini for a couple of years. Just recently got a Tarantula, Fun Fun!

I figure a 4 axis gyro controls Right, Left, Forward and Reverse. You manually control altitude/power. So, does a 6 axis machine control altitude/power? Up and Down?

My Tarantula is 6 axis but does not control altitude/power obviously. So what am I missing here? What is axis 5 and six do??

Also, along this line. How does a 4 channel radio control camera functions? Sub channels or???

Thanks and have fun!

Hi mate the biggest difference between 4 and 6 axis is the quad will also know which way up it is , and which way round if you use what they call headless mode , lots of the newer toy quads have 6 axis gyro these can be thrown into the air and when you add throttle will flip right way up and hover

Hi Jackson may be more help on that , normally you have to press a button to turn the camera on or off so it will have more channels then the 4 for flying control but as this channel can only be use for this they just say its a 4 channel controller

Thanks, I may be trying to understand more than I need to know or can haha.

I am interested in upgrading the stock camera on my Tarantula and controlling it may not be possible with the stock transmitter. I will never know unless I ask.
