In Cura, under Build Plate Adhesion option, there are 4...…. Brim, Skirt, Draft, None.

I know what Brim and Draft are for. I fail to see the usefulness of Skirt.
It doesn't seem to have any purpose.
Please advise.
 
Skirt is just a brim that doesn't touch the part, and I also never use it. The only usefulness I can see of this option is that you can get an idea of how your initial layers are going down and if you are having any adhesion issues. I guess it also primes the printer. But I agree, why use a skirt when you can use a brim which would give you the benefit of better build plate adhesion.
