3d printed carbon vs carbon sheets

Hi,
Has anyone 3d printed a frame using carbon fiber filiment? I'm hesitant to buy a spool of carbon fiber because I know that the pattern or grain direction of carbon fiber does a lot for the strength and compliance. I'm not sure how extruded carbon fiber would keep the benefits of carbon fiber.

Not much benefit from it. I do some 3D prints with carbon fiber inserts (like leaving a hole for a CF rod in a longer print), but find that delamination between layers is the real problem, so I don't think CF is much more than a gimmick when put into filament except in edge cases. One such example would be something that you want to prevent from stretching.
