This was the only RC experience I had until I started building 4 years ago. Man did my ignorant 10 year old self beat the heck out of this thing. Fortunately my folks hung onto it during a move 20 years ago.
It used to run off a 7.2V Nicd, but I wanted to use my flight packs. I added a PDB to power the ESC through an adjustable 12A converter. It also powers the rx, vtx & camera.
The original Futaba radio used 8 AAs so I wasn't having that, but also didn't want to tie up my daily driver. Luckily I have a Spektrum DX4 for my old Blade 350, as well as a rx I picked up at a local shop.
Little did I know Futaba servos run the opposite direction. The motor had to be switched on the board & the potentiometer leads had to be swapped, and I can't believe I pulled it off.
Certainly impressed the GF, as this all started 3 weeks ago with 4 roller skate wheels bolted to a board being pushed by a 3" quad. LOL
Gonna shop for wheels shocks and a shell. Will update.
