I'm building an octo-copter and need to know what motor/rotor combination would work best for eight motors lifting approx. 30-35LBS. Rotors or propellers have to be less than ten inches in length.

True, and I agree but, the newer style gives me a larger surface area on the aft nacelles, whereas the older style is really narrow. That was my sole reason for choosing the newer style.
