    Help with X5C-1 camera

If I heard that right anything > 500ms would snap a pic and 100ms<=t<490ms would be for video. Too bad, reversed would seem like an 'always on' condition. As in anything longer than 500ms would mean until it is shut off. Hmmm It would burn my camera out wouldn't it,,,,, [grin] Thanks for looking...

    Help with X5C-1 camera

I'll do the same. I've had the camera apart and took several pcs of the board as I was going to solder on the new JST connector when they came. Of course I ordered the wrong size. How are you liking the X5C? I'm really happy with it now that I've plumbed it's limitations and can control it...

    Help with X5C-1 camera

Thanks for the response Michael. Thanks for the wiring info. That's usually the first thing I do in post processing is split the audio. Depending on the footage I'll either mute the prop buzz or lower the volume considerably. I wonder about wiring directly to a battery connection. I have a...

    Help with X5C-1 camera

Hi guys I pooched my camera by pulling the 2 of the 3 wires out of the JST connector. I ordered 2 new JST connectors from SparkFun in Colorado [fast shipping and I know I'll screw up the first one]. JST connectors come in different sizes I found out. When ordering parts, check closely. I didn't...

    Quick one...

So something to consider b4 flying is to set a flight plan which kind of takes the spontaneity out the deal . If I was spending more than a 1K for a quad.... gee I make brain surgery out of this X5C-1... more buttons, MORE settings... I can't wait to set the height! I'm also praying that...

    Quick one...

Hi ringolong yes, I was referring to the RTH feature. Aaahhh the x factor... set the height b4 you fly, makes sense. Thanks man. Don't go too far... I'll have more

    Quick one...

If you send your quad out on a dog leg and suddenly lose signal and the bend in the dog leg has trees. I'm assuming that the quad will tree itself? It's not going to dodge anything on its beeline back to your location so how is this an asset unless you just flew an unobstructed routine? Not sure...

    Upgrade or Syma Add On?

Well Jackson I'm still looking so that may be the case with many who drop in ask and never stick around for the replies. I'm a little disappointed in the response to this thread. The X5C is a fairly popular quad, FPV is a popular subject. The two go together and I thought the thrust of my post...

    Upgrade or Syma Add On?

Thanks Jackson. I had thought and should have added to the above that I do want to enter the FPV arena and that would be an inexpensive way to do it but do I just keep adding up the costs on this quad? Thanks again for the input.

    Upgrade or Syma Add On?

Hey folks, I'm looking towards an upgrade. I currently fly a Syma X5C-1 and am realizing its limits as a stable camera platform for video work. As it stands, it won't do what I need it to. So here's the thing; I could purchase the Syma X5C FPV outfit which is about$55-$175 depending on where you...

    X5C-1 video problem

If you no longer need the bumpers on her, the long screws that hold them on will work to str8n the camera view. I got extra from the crash kit I purchased so I used those. [edit to add] I'm still a chicken and fly with the bumpers on.

    X5C-1 video problem

You would lose your footage once the battery dies unless you manually stop filming before that happens. I don't think even 8 or 9 minutes (if you're lucky) would fill the 4 Gig card that comes with the X5C-1. I have 8 batteries and have not had a problem spanning flights over that range. I do...

Faze RTF Ultra Small Quad ( fix, motor swap)

Good job man! That is one small quad! Looks like fun to fly but how the heck do you keep track of it outside? Great video. Cheers!!

Flight Log: Tell Us Bout Your Flights

Man that's a small craft to have FPV. All this reduction in size down to a platform that small that uses first person video... geeeesh. My dogs tend to leave the X5C-1 alone and seem to have a healthy respect for it...but a nano.... snack food LOL I researched the Blade last night. Looks like a...

Cheerson CX-20, goes berzerk commits suicide... what happened?

Thanks Glo! Don't think my Syma X5C-1 is all that complicated but I will look into it just for curiosity sake. I know already mine doesn't have a tick beside 'Avoid Trees' ;)

Cheerson CX-20, goes berzerk commits suicide... what happened?

Hi Glo, Curious how you were able to access the flight controllers data? I'm no brainiac so just the basics please. ;) I've heard others talk of finding out the calibration was off. Are you able to reset this data to restore function? Or is the flight controller pooched but you can still read...

Syma X5C-1 Camera Mod (sorta kinda but hey it works!

I initially posted this under another section. So if it looks familiar... well.... I did not fly over any structure other than me and my truck so visually it wasn't stunning at all. Well I was out this morning testing a new feature of the Syma X5C-1. I had this brainwave of unhitching the...

Flight Log: Tell Us Bout Your Flights

Well I was out this morning testing a new feature of the Syma X5C-1. I had this brainwave of unhitching the camera and using that fastener for the ages, Duct Tape to secure the camera backwards and pointing almost straight down. Out this morning early Syma X5C-1 - [bumpers; landing gear; and...
